Hi guys, I know you are trying to point out the grammar error on my topic right?
Just stay with me.
Something happened in class sometimes in June, 2022. I noticed a cluster of students and from their body languages, I could detect that they were trying to hide something coupled with the noise coming from that angle.
I walked up to them and upon persistent, they brought out a book in which they had jotted down names of different teachers and the grammatical errors each teacher make while teaching or in day-to-day conversation.
I took the book from them, glanced through it, I saw the fret on their faces but at that moment, I couldn't think of anything to do to them, instead I flashed back to my experiences as a secondary school student.
"Who is that murmur? I say who is that murmur? She adjusted her ear glasses to her nose and asked for the third time, who is that murmur?"
Here comes the Social Studies teacher. You dare not disturb her class😄 else she would lash your butt.
Once she turns and faces the board, we bring out our jotter, our special jotter with all the names of the teachers with their grammatical blunders🤣🤣🤣, at our leisure time, we go through them and laugh 😂.
"Where went you, who permitted you?"
Now speaking of our Home Economics teacher. The list went on and on.
Unfortunately for me, I was caught in one of our escapades while laughing uncontrollably as if I was a maniac.
I was taken to the staffroom, I believe you all know what the outcome was, I guessed right.
Coupled with the fact that as a student back then, when a teacher asked you to meet him or her in the staffroom, your own has finished oooo🙆♀️
My experiences in the staffroom that day is definitely a gist for another day.
Anyways enough of the story already.
Introducing "Let's Learn The English Language"
It is going to be a weekly lesson on "Common Errors in English Language."
This is designed for the use of English in Africa by those who can already speak and write English competently enough but have a tendency to commit certain errors which could be as a result of inadequate grasp of the rules of English grammar or the interference of African language patterns.
It promises to be educative, interesting and conversational.
Get your pen and paper while we ride joyfully.
See you all in a bit❤️
I love you😘😘
